Remove Contact Form Field On the Shopify Craft Theme
And other Shopify 2.0 themes as well…
By default (as far as I’m aware) the contact form on the Shopify Craft (and Dawn) theme(s) comes with a Phone number form field, as shown in the screenshot below on one of my development stores:
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of submitting my phone number so I think a lot of times, this field can be removed from the form. Therefore, I tend to do away with it.
Note: If you plan on doing SMS marketing then you should likely leave this field as part of the contact form.
In the Shopify Craft theme, it’s quite easy to remove this field by editing a small bit of liquid code.
Follow these steps.
Back up the current theme first.
In the Admin dashboard, go to Online Store > Themes and for the current theme, click the 3 dot hamburger-style menu (…) to the left of the Customize button and choose Edit code.
